HURLEY -- Even as the accident happened Ken Challis had his children in mind -- he fell 30 feet but didn't drop the chainsaw.
"I couldn't drop it," Ken said. "I didn't know where it would fall."
'It Was a Rainy Day'
His story starts with, "It was a rainy day."
As a general contractor, rainy day work is limited, so he and his crew, which included his son and daughter, were near Island Lake to take down a tree. Large trees have to be taken down piece-by-piece, he said. As he was descending, Ken realized he had to make another cut.
"I was taken out of the tree by that last piece," Ken said.
