HURLEY -- Prisoner board deposits at the Iron County jail totaled $58,268 on Friday, according to figures presented to the Iron County Board on Tuesday.
That figure is down slighty from last year's figure of $59,785 for the same period.
Included in the prisoner board deposits are Huber, monitor, and pay-to-stay fees, and inmate housing from other counties.
This year's figure includes $6,265 from Gogebic County for boarding prisoners in May.
According to the report, the average daily population in May was 20.38 inmates, and from June 1 through June 20, 12.75 prisoners.
In May, the monthly average of inmates on electronic monitors was two. That average remains the same this month.
To June 20, a total of 17 inmates were processed this month, the report said. On Friday, nine men and four women were housed in the Iron County jail.
The highest daily head count in May was recorded on May 11, when 24 inmates (18 men, six women) were jailed in Iron County. The lowest head count was on May 29, with 14 prisoners (11men, three women) lodged.
The highest head count this month, through Friday, was on June 1 and June 2, with 20 inmates (15 men and 5 women). The lowest number, 10 inmates (seven men, three women) was on June 14, the report said.
These reports must be filed monthly with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Office of Detention Facilities in Eau Claire, Wis.
