The Hurley School District and Ironwood Area School District received donations from Target in the September installment of the Take Charge of Education Payout.
Hurley was awarded $130.58, and Ironwood, $168.44.
This payouts are a result of parents, teachers and school supporters who participated in the program that has earned Hurley School $2,364.79 and Ironwood "hundreds of dollars" since 1997, according to press releases from both schools.
Through Take Charge of Education, families, teachers and members of the community raise money for their school when they sign up and designate an eligible K-12 school. Target donates up to 1 percent of every purchase they make with their Target credit card to that school. Take Charge of Education dollars are donated to schools twice a year.
