IRON BELT, Wis. -- MySpace and YouTube, two large Web sites, led Iron County Sheriff's Department deputies to a large underage drinking party in Iron Belt on Saturday night, according to Sheriff Bob Bruneau. Deputies watched the party unfold.
Several juveniles were arrested about 7:21 p.m. Saturday at the party, an ICSD report said.
A large amount of alcohol and drug paraphernalia was confiscated, Bruneau said. Parents of the juveniles were called to the sheriff's department to pick up their children. Kevin T. Knipp, 21, of Mercer, Wis., was arrested for a probation violation, Bruneau said.
Multiple citations were issued, ranging from underage consumption, open containers of alcohol, violation of the absolute sobriety law, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bruneau said. All citations were forwarded to the district attorney's office.
"Further citations may be forthcoming," Bruneau said.
The sheriff said he would "like to thank MySpace and YouTube for the assistance in this incident."
