Hurley races highlight Iron County elections

There'll only be a few contested races in Iron County Tuesday when Wisconsin voters go to the polls.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In Hurley, three people are running for mayor, and 11 are seeking six at-large seats on the city council.

Mayor Joseph Pinardi is seeking re-election. He faces opposition from former mayor Paul W. Mullard, who currently sits on the city council, and newcomer Daniel F. Rossi.

Mullard served as mayor prior to Pinardi being elected mayor in 2004.

Pinardi served on the council 14 years prior to being elected mayor.

Michelle Fink, Donald Richards, Charlene Mussatti, David Vuorenmaa and James Bock are seeking re-election to their seats on the city council. Also running is Robert Lanctoe, a former mayor and councilman, John Aijala, who served one term on the city council in the early 1990s, Jamey Francis, Larry Fluhr, Joanne Bruneau and Dennis Munn.

In Iron County, residents will see two new faces on the county board at its reorganizational meeting on April 15.
