Two Hurley players and a Ewen-Trout Creek senior received special awards from the Great Western Conference.
Hurley senior BJ Wesenberg (6-0, 185) earned Defensive Back of the Year and Hurley sophomore Jeff Aspinwall (5-9, 175) was Kicker of the Year.
E-TC senior Colin Ahlskog (5-11, 200) was Punter of the Year.
Crystal Falls Forest Park was named Team of the Year while Lake Linden coach Andy Crouch is Coach of the Year.
Several local players were named to the all-conference team.
Hurley senior Gary Leoni (6-3, 230) made the team as an offensive lineman.
Ahlskog also earned a spot on the team as a quarterback and punter.
Ontonagon senior quarterback Ryan Moreau (6-0, 170) was one of five all-conference QBs. Hurley junior Josh Thiede (5-10, 150) is another one of the quarterbacks.
Midgets' sophomore running back Justin Rhenlund (6-0, 175) also made the team, along with Aspinwall at kicker.
Wesenberg earned a spot on the defensive team as a linebacker. Ontonagon senior Kyle Pollard (5-10, 180) and Hurley senior Jared Reid (5-10, 185) were also linebackers.
Bessemer senior Ben Kapugia (5-7, 140), Wakefield-Marenisco-Watersmeet senior Dallas Saubert (5-8, 185) and E-TC senior Shane Johnson (5-9, 170) made the team as defensive backs.
Forest Park won the conference with a 9-0 record over second-place Lake Linden (8-1) and third-place Hurley (7-2).
