Park Falls sweeps invitational

PARK FALLS, Wis. -- Park Falls swept its own track invitational Tuesday.

 

The Park Falls girls won with 146 points. Hurley took fourth with 45 points. Wakefield-Marenisco was fifth with 5 points.

 

Park Falls' boys outdistanced runner-up Northwestern 126-79.5. Hurley was third, Phillips fourth and W-M fifth.

 

Hurley's Kim Leinon won the 100-meter high hurdles in 17.7. Stephanie Nevala took the 300 hurdles in 54.2.

 

In the boys meet, local schools did well in the field events. Hurley's Mike Leinon set a school record winning the triple jump at 38-1.5. He also won the high jump (5-6).

 

Midgets Garett Innes and B.J. Wesenberg won the shot put and long jump, respectively.

 

W-M's Cody Mahler won the discus and took third in the shot put.
