EWEN -- The Ewen-Trout Creek School District received an "A" grade by the State of Michigan. The top rating was for academic excellence for the second time in the second year K-12 rating.
According to superintendent Lee Lindberg, E-TC has once again met adequate yearly progress in the state MEAP's for all grades tested, three through 11.
Lindberg cited the scores of 86.4 percent English language arts; 95.9 percent mathematics; 95.4 percent science; and 91.5 percent social studies.
Lindberg also said the E-TC 2007-08 juniors exceeded overall state scores in Michigan Merit Exam testing: reading state average, 62 percent, E-TC average 77 percent; mathematics state average 46 percent, E-TC average 77 percent; social studies state average 80 percent, E-TC average 93 percent; writing state average 41 percent, E-TC average 53 percent; science state average 57 percent, E-TC average 70 percent.
Lindberg credited the "dedicated teaching and support staff, caring community and above all the fine students of Ewen-Trout Creek school for these outstanding results."
