The average reading of 40.3 degrees was slightly above the long-term norm of 40.1, according to statistics for Ironwood kept by the National Weather Service office in Marquette. The county first began the process of acquiring the 115-acre parcel as part of the larger rebuilding of Saxon Harbor after it was destroyed in the July 11, 2016 storm.     WAUSAU, Wis. - Wayne H. Blaschke, 78, of Lake Gogebic, Mich., passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2017, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. Wayne was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 9, 1939. He graduated from Boys' Tech and was drafted into the U.S. Army where he was a signal corpsman stationed in Germany.
