SAXON, Wis. - Alena and Kyle Luoma, of Saxon, wanted to do something nice for the region's youth and help support gun safety and all-terrain vehicle education classes. The owners of Luoma's Saxon Pub decided to conducr a 50-50 raffle to raise money to help David Vuorenmaa's efforts with Hurley Area Safety Education. HURLEY, Wis. - Dorothy H. Peite, 96, of Hurley and formerly of Ironwood, Mich., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019. Dorothy was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Montreal, daughter of Peter and Anna (Homieleska) Gulan. She was a 1940 graduate of J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley.
