Blowing snow, combined with wind chill readings of 40 below, closed Gogebic Range schools for the second time this week on Wednesday. Visibility was poor and traffic was light on Wednesday morning. IRONWOOD - The Aspirus Grand View Home Health team will soon begin offering home telemonitoring services to patients. Marcia Nelson, manager of AGVHH, said the new program is "a real opportunity for us to make a difference for the patients." The system has already set up at Aspirus Wausau and Aspirus Keweenaw, and Nelson said the programs at both locations seem to be working really well. MINOCQUA, Wis. - Thomas T. Thompson, 88, of Hurley, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in Minocqua,. He was born April 9, 1926, in Erwin Township, son of the late Theodore and Jennie (Niemi) Thompson. He was a graduate of the Lincoln High School in Hurley. Tom had worked in numerous positions as an equipment operator. On April 10, 1948, he was united in marriage with Doris L. CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — Mark Clifford Bruneau Jr., 72, of Chesterfield, died peacefully in the company of his family on Jan. 2, 2015. WICHITA, Kan. — Stella Light, 85, of Bruce Crossing, Mich., passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born February 12, 1929, in Paynesville to George and Mary (Nayback) Nurkkala. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Co-op Creamery. She married Donald Light on Sept. 15, 1962, in Bruce Crossing, where they made their home. Stella was a member of the Ewen United Methodist Church and enjoyed skiing, hiking, baking and knitting.
