Dan Siirila, of Ironwood, (commissioner district 1), was elected chair. He’ll replace George Peterson, of Watersmeet, who was absent. Newcomer Joann Balduc, of Ironwood, (commission district 4), was also absent. She previously told the board she would miss January meetings because of medical issues.     DULUTH, Minn. — Keith A. Mathews, 71, of Ironwood, Mich., passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth. Keith was born in Austin, to Dorothy and Harold Mathews, on Oct. 24, 1947. In 1968, he married Deb L. and the two were later divorced. They have two children together.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Lena (Tomlanovich) Osterman, 90, passed away on Jan. 8, 2019, at Westgate Nursing Home in Ironwood. She was born on Dec. 16, 1928, to parents Frank & Stana. On Sept. 4, 1948, she married Matt Osterman. She was a resident of Ironwood her entire life. Lena worked at Connie's Supper Club for several years. She was active in various church groups.
