    IRONWOOD - Excitement was high for the Taste 'N Tour leisurely ski event on Saturday, as part of the annual Sisu Ski Fest in Ironwood. Participants gathered at Norrie Park Pavilion in Ironwood for their first top during the self-paced ski event. The Taste 'N Tour is held in conjunction with the timed races of Sisu as another option for skiers to participate in the festivities without the competition side of it.   • Sisu snowshoe races hit Miners Memorial Trail

    IRONWOOD - A small, but spirited group of people showed up for the annual Sisu snowshoe event on Sunday morning. More than 30 participants raced in the 2K, 5K and 10K races. The snowshoe races are typically held on Saturday during the Sisu Ski Fest, along with the rest of the events. However, the race not only changed days, but also locations, moving from Milje's Trails in Wakefield to the Miners Memorial Heritage Park in Ironwood.   • Township receives grant from Trans-Canada gas company

    IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - The Ironwood Township Volunteer Fire Department was recently awarded a grant to purchase automated external defibrillator (AED) units. The department received $3,500 from Trans-Canada, a natural gas company which operates a pipeline that runs through Ironwood Township. According to Bob Brentar, department member, the funding was applied to the department's community access to AED inititative, and two AED units were purchased.     RAMSAY, Mich. - Roger A. Radowski, 66, a longtime resident of Ramsay, passed away suddenly Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. He was born on Aug. 6, 1948, in Wakefield, the son of Joseph W. and Catherine (Bendotti) Radowski. Roger attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1966. He attended Gogebic Community College and continued his education at Northern Michigan University graduating in 1971.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Thomas Robert "Snuffy" Cvengros, 56, of Ironwood, passed away on Jan. 3, 2015. He was born in October 1958, in Ironwood. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1975 then moved briefly to New Mexico to work on oil rigs. He also worked as pipe fitter for Northern Pipeline, as a millwright for Louisiana Pacific and for Binz Brothers Well Drilling.     PARK FALLS, Wis. — Lillian M. Sauer, 103, of Mercer, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. The former Lillian Heinlien was born Aug. 13, 1911, in Chicago, daughter of the late Charles and Emma Heinlien, and graduated from Lindbloom High School in Chicago.
