IRONWOOD - Another 110-year snow record fell Tuesday morning in Ironwood before the sun finally popped out. A total of 15.2 inches of snow was recorded for the 24-hour period to 7 a.m. Tuesday at the National Weather Station measuring site at the Gogebic-Iron Wastewater Treatment Plant off Cloverland Drive. IRONWOOD - To mark the 20th anniversary of the Jack Frost Festival, the planning committee decided to honor Santa in a special way. This year's theme is "Santa's Memories" in honor of the late Marvin Tassava Sr., who passed away in March. RAMSAY, Mich. - Betty Lou Kaczmarek, 72, a longtime resident of Ramsay, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 17, 2014. Betty was born on July 18, 1942, in Wakefield, the daughter of William John and Linda (Maki) Karling. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1960. MESA, Ariz. - John P Trojahn, 95, of Mesa, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, in Mesa, with his wife Helen (formerly Helen Kero of Saxon, Wis.) and family by his side. John was born in Milwaukee on May 9, 1919, to August and Pauline Trojahn.
