WAKEFIELD — Regional Hospice will host its 13th annual Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 9, in Sunday Lake at Wakefield. Organizers are asking members of the public — those willing to jump — to solicit pledges in support of their leap. The pre-registration deadline is Feb. 20 to receive a T-shirt, but registration remains open until the day of the Plunge. SAXON, Wis. - James Wayne "Jim" Ansami, 62, of Saxon, died peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, about two weeks after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The son of Alice (Peterson) and Waino Ansami, he was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Ashland. He retired in 2016 as the city of Ironwood's water plant operator at the pumphouse in Ironwood Township.
