    IRONWOOD — Gogebic Community College officials will interview four candidates to be the next college president this coming week. Four candidates on four consecutives days — Tuesday through Friday — will each meet with the public in a series of open forums, have dinner with the college Board of Trustees and then interview with the board.     WAKEFIELD — Regional Hospice will host its 13th annual Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 9, in Sunday Lake at Wakefield. Organizers are asking members of the public — those willing to jump — to solicit pledges in support of their leap. The pre-registration deadline is Feb. 20 to receive a T-shirt, but registration remains open until the day of the Plunge.     SAXON, Wis. - James Wayne "Jim" Ansami, 62, of Saxon, died peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, about two weeks after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The son of Alice (Peterson) and Waino Ansami, he was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Ashland. He retired in 2016 as the city of Ironwood's water plant operator at the pumphouse in Ironwood Township.
