    IRONWOOD - City of Ironwood public works employees on Monday were repairing a water line break near the Gogebic County Fairgrounds that was discovered over the weekend. Ironwood Public Safety Department officer John Colassaco was on patrol around midnight Sunday when he noticed a large amount of water and ice on the highway across from Curry Park.     BESSEMER - More than 30 residents attended a public hearing for the Bessemer City Council to reconsider a special use permit for a medical marijuana dispensary Monday. On Dec. 2, a special use permit was granted to applicant Richard Duncan, of Ironwood, to have the marijuana dispensary on a 3-2 vote.     MERCER, Wis. - Friday is national "Wear Red Day" as part of the "Go Red for Women" initiative to help fight the number one killer of women, heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is more deadly in women than all forms of cancer combined, and causes one of three women's deaths each year.     WHITE PINE - Mike Urbis of Ewen was named Aspirus Community Champion at the annual Aspirus employee recognition dinner Friday at the Konteka in White Pine. Urbis, along with Jim Jessup, perform Christmas Concerts for the benefit of the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital and have raised thousands of dollars for the foundation. (AP) - A group of same-sex couples filed a federal lawsuit Monday challenging Wisconsin's ban on gay marriage, arguing the prohibition is unconstitutional and denies them civil rights married couples enjoy.
