    By ZACHARY MARANO [email protected] HANCOCK — The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department reported one death in Gogebic and two deaths in Houghton in the last seven days, making this the 10th week in a row at least three people in the western U.P. died with COVID-19.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - John Henry Steinmetz Jr., 90 of Ironwood and formally a long-time resident of Saxon, Wisconsin, passed away at the Aspirus Hospital in Ironwood on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021. John was born to John H. Sr. and Edna C. (Demers) Steinmetz on June 21, 1931, in Ironwood. John proudly served in the U.S. Navy, welding as an aircraft mechanic.     MEQUON, Wis. - Betty Jane Salli died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at the age of 89 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospice in Mequon. She was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Saxon, daughter of the late John and Hilma Hill Tapanilla. On Dec. 6, 1952, she married Tarmo "Tom" Salli in Ironwood, Michigan.
