HURLEY - Gogebic Taconite continues to drill for core samples, as well as beginning the bulk sampling process, at the proposed iron ore mine site near Upson, Wis. On Thursday, crews continued to drill, with a goal of 15 holes in total. Ten holes are in Iron County, and five are in Ashland County. MANITOWOC, Wis. — Sister Priscilla Simmons, 92, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. The former Florence Simmons was born on April 1, 1921, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late John and Mary (Michetti) Simmons. She entered the Convent in 1939 and professed her vows in 1941. SILVER CITY, N.M. - Anna Mae "Ann" Brockman, longtime resident of Silver City, passed away peacefully at the Silver City Care Center on Feb. 11, 2014.
