The initiative was approved by 56 percent of Michigan voters in the November mid-term election. It allows adults 21 and older to possess and transport up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, including up to 15 grams in the form of marijuana concentrate. The White Thunder Riders had three groomers out in the morning and reported that 80 miles of trail in northern Iron County were groomed.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Carol Jean (Leinonen) Lindberg, 86, a long-time resident of Ironwood Township, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2018. Carol was born on Dec. 19, 1931, in Ironwood, a daughter of Matthew and Linnea (Krankkala) Leinonen. She grew up on the family farm on Airport Road. Carol attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1950. She continued her education at Gogebic Community College.     MARENISCO, Mich. — Mary L. “Cookie” Conterio, 73, of Marenisco, passed away early Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, 2018. Mary was born on Dec. 25, 1944, in Bessemer Township, the daughter of BJ and Dorothy Conterio. She was a graduate of Marenisco High School and Western Michigan University. Mary was a dedicated teacher in Charlevoix. Cookie is survived by a brother, Bud Balcom, Marenisco; and several cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
