BESSEMER - The Bessemer City Council heard from Bessemer Chamber of Commerce president Kathy Whitburn about the chamber's plans for the year. "We are very excited to keep supporting, and keep stepping up ... to introduce some new programs to the business community," Whitburn said. He was born February 1, 1939, in Wolverine, son of the late Raymond and Lydia (Solonen) Bekkala. On June 15, 1959, Roy was united in marriage with Paulette Jarvela in Calumet. KIMBALL, Wis. — Janet Marie Setterlund, 73, of Hurley passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Janet was born on Oct. 28, 1941, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of Hjalmer and Vivian (Luoma) Setterlund.
