The annual event has people of all ages raising money to jump into freezing cold water. The vote included approval of a 4.63 millage, which Supervisor John Cox said was unchanged from the previous year. ONTONAGON, Mich. — Juana “Josie” Shamion was taken home by our Lord on March 1, 2020, in Ontonagon. She passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family. Josie was born on June 5, 1937, and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband of 55 years, Ronald Shamion. She and Ron moved to Ontonagon in 1970 where his family lived.
