HURLEY, Wis. — Betty L. Oldenburg, 83, of Hurley, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Hurley with her great-nephew at her side. She was born on Jan. 29, 1932, in Hiles, Wis., daughter of the late Curtis and Carrie (Combs) Gumm. As a child, she attended school in Marenisco and Wakefield, Mich. In 1951, Betty was united in marriage with Carl Syrja. He preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Lloyd Oldenburg in 1983. He preceded her in death in 2000.
