HURLEY - Around 650 students from Hurley, Ironwood and Bessemer schools took part in a day-long event held at the Hurley K-12 School on Tuesday. IRONWOOD -Beacon Ambulance Operations Manager Randy Forstrom was at Luther L. Wright on March 20 and March 23 to teach members of the district's high school JROTC program CPR and how to use the defibrillators in the school. The school's curriculum requires that members of its JROTC program receive first aid training, however, 1st Sgt. NOVI, Mich. - Andrew "Andy" J. Hendrickson Jr., 76, passed away on March 15, 2015, in Novi. Andrew was born Sept. 27, 1938, to Andrew and Ellen Hendrickson. He grew up in Ironwood and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1956. He then attended the University of Michigan on a football scholarship. HAYWARD, Wis. — The Ironwood Red Devil softball team won its first game of the season Tuesday, defeating Hayward 17-8. “We’re happy to get started and get a win,” said first-year coach Tim Routheaux. “We only had nine players due to solo ensemble and some injuries, so we had a lot of girls in new positions.
