James Kichak was re-elected chairman for the Town of Mercer during the general spring election on Tuesday. Kichak edged challenger Opal Roberts, 355-343. In other Mercer races, Lin L. Miller defeated Sue Schenk for town treasurer, 383-274. For the Mercer School Board, three challengers ran for two seats. MINOCQUA, Wis. — Dennis K. “Dbl D” DeRosso, 78, of Oma, died peacefully Monday, April 1, 2013, at Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Center in Minocqua, with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Hurley, son of the late Geno and Mae (Brown) DeRosso, attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1952. Last week’s return of the 1432nd Engineer Company of the Michigan National Guard was a reminder of how important the service of our soldiers is to our country. Their service is truly honorable.
