Scheduled spring events include traditional but modified graduations and prom, choral and band concerts, scholarship and awards programs, according to Melissa Oja, the middle and high school principal. Ticks live in grassy, bushy or wooded areas, according to the health department, and can be active any time there are multiple days in a row where temperatures are above 32 degrees.     SAXON, Wis. - Donald "Don" Valkama, age 75, of Saxon, went to the abundant hunting and fishing area in the sky on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, unexpectedly at his home. Don was born on Feb. 8, 1945, to Ernest and Jennie Valkama of Saxon. He attended Saxon Public School and had training in welding after high school.
