IRONWOOD - Ronald K. Maki, 82, of 360 W. Midland Ave., Ironwood, formerly of Marenisco, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Ron was born on April 12, 1933, in Marenisco, the son of William and Anna M. (Krueger) Maki. He was baptized in Marenisco and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bessemer. IRONWOOD - In connection with the "The Way We Worked" exhibit that is open throughout the region, the Ironwood Carnegie Library hosted an "Andrew Carnegie Day" open house Friday. The event featured cake and refreshments, as well as a display of books - both on local history and the of the turn-of-the-century industrialist who provided funds for the library's founding. Spring thunderstorms have already arrived on the Gogebic Range and Xcel Energy officials said it’s time to prepare for possible severe weather. “We’ve already experienced some strong winds and the first heavy thunderstorms of the year are likely not too far away. With that in mind, it is always a good reminder that we all need to be prepared,” said Liz Wolf Green, of Eau Claire, Wis., Xcel Energy’s spokesperson. WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Deanna Marie "Dee" Lane, 76, of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, after an 18-year battle with cancer.
