The Heritage Chapter of the North Country Trail Association has a busy summer of work events and other activities planned for the section of the North Country National Scenic Trail it maintains. Jim was born on March 30, 1950, in Oakland, Calif., a son of Thomas and Lila (Manninen) McHugh. He attended Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood and graduated in 1968.
