WAKEFIELD – The Wakefield-Marenisco school held its second annual craft fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. "It's going to be held every last Saturday in April," said Title I teacher Teri Giuliano. Vendors sold candles, woodwork pieces, Avon cosmetics, blankets and more. Patricia Mann, known as the Crafty Lady, was one such vendor. The Western Michigan Mountain Bike Club hosted a fundraiser at the Maplewood Steakhouse on Sunday to raise money for five miles of new bike trail near Copper Peak. "If we can continue to build nice bike trails around here, that will bring more people to the area," said Maplewood owner Peter Palm. "It takes people like us to go ahead and make that stuff happen." To the Editor: Between now and this August, there may be two important issues put before the voters of the Bessemer Area School District and the Wakefield-Marenisco School District. The first, already scheduled in early May, will be to decide if voters of the Bessemer Area District should approve the sale of a bond to finance improvements and maintenance of the A.D. Johnston High School and the Washington Elementary School. If enough signatures are secured, another election will be held in August to see if the two districts should consolidate....
