    MARQUETTE — David Kel Baldwin Jr., 45, of Watersmeet, was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for assault resulting in serious bodily injury, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday. U.S. District Judge Paul L. Maloney also ordered Baldwin to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term, pay a $2,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Ruth E. Karianen, 91, of Trout Creek, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield. Ruth was born in Bruce Crossing, to Jacob and Hilda (Heikkinen) Niemi on April 20, 1925, on the family farm. She enjoyed making rugs, wine, canning and the outdoors.
