    ASHLAND, Wis. — Daniel R. MacArthur, 92, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland. He was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Ashland, the son of Alexander and Mary (Stevenson) MacArthur. In 1939, he graduated from Ashland High School. In 1942, Dan entered the service and served in the U.S. National Guard 32nd Division Army and was stationed in the South Pacific. On Jan. 3, 1948, he married Gladys Goldinger in Ashland.     WILLOW RIVER, Minn. — Kenneth J. LaRock died peacefully in his sleep Friday, May 3, 2013. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Elizabeth; daughters, Marcia LaRock, Carol LaRock and Nancy Tuomie; grandchildren, Michael Sorenson, Corey Sorenson, Danielle Tuomie and Ashley Tuomie; and great-grandchild, Chance Sorenson.     WHITE PINE — Lowell and Peggy Elmblad joined thousands of people more than five years ago who have heard the verdict of cancer. As Lowell was in the treatment and recovery stage, the couple discussed something they wanted to do for the Ontonagon County Cancer Association which had helped them financially with some of the cancer bills.
