IRONWOOD — Four Ironwood freshmen competed at the 25th annual Michigan Technological University Bioathlon recently in Houghton, and came home with a second place finish. Sixteen teams from across the Upper Peninsula competed in the event, including Bessemer, Houghton, L’Anse, Negaunee and Calumet. IRONWOOD - Friends of Miners Memorial Heritage Park will host their fifth annual spring clean-up on Saturday. The Miners Memorial Heritage Park is 167 acres of land owned by the city and has been the site of much illegal dumping of tires, appliances and furniture over the years. PORT HURON (AP) - Sea lampreys look alien, and Jim Frazer had a close encounter of the worst kind with one on Saturday during the Port Huron Spring Fling salmon fishing tournament. She was born on June 28, 1924, in Puritan Location, Bessemer, daughter of the late John and Ancilla (Dalsaggio) Stella, and had been a longtime Bessemer resident. Her husband, James D.
