EWEN — With the resignation of Ewen-Trout Creek Superintendent Alan Tulppo, the school district is looking for a leader. The E-TC School Board accepted Tulppo’s resignation Wednesday. He said he has accepted the position of director of general education at the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District. He will begin his duties there on July 2. FRISCO, Texas — Laverne Francis Brown, 95, of Frisco, passed away on June 2, 2018. She was born on Aug. 13, 1922, in Wakefield, Mich., to Mary Elizabeth (Pezzetti) and Mose Giansante. On Oct. 8, 1949, Laverne married Lyle William Brown. They resided in Hancock, Mich., until 1978 when they moved to Murrieta, Calif. In 2004, Mrs. Brown moved to Frisco.
