The two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at around 2 p.m. Friday, Iron County Sheriff Paul Samardich told the Daily Globe, on the highway near Defer Road. Carole was born Oct. 13, 1958, in Ironwood to Bill Leppalla and Pat Junti (deceased). Bill later married Diane Leppala. Carole’s siblings included Lori, Evelyn, Deb, Dawn, Bill and Desiree.
