HURLEY — Owners of the recently purchased Hurley Inn are working to reopen the property as a motel this fall. Hurley Mayor Joe Pinardi said he has been in contact with one of the owners, Paul Bertelson, and the initial plan is to have 50 rooms open. DULUTH, Minn. — Shirley Hockenbrock, 73, of Hurley, Wis., died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth. Shirley was born on Feb. 4, 1943, to Otto and Mabel (Zandi) Sorvala. She married David Hockenbrock on Feb. 21, 1970, at First Presbyterian Church in Hurley by Reverend James Walker. Shirley was an instrumental member of First Presbyterian Church in Hurley.
