Smith Construction at a special meeting on June 29. Jeff Sjoquist of Coleman Engineering presented financing details from the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Rural Development.     By MEGAN HUGHES news@yourdailyglobe.com BESSEMER — Bessemer hosted their 34th annual Hometown Run on Saturday, with more than 250 participants gathering at Bessemer City Hall early in the morning to start the day off with a run, or perhaps a brisk stoll. This year’s race had 256 racers sign up, including 25 people who walked the 2 mile or 10K with strollers, according to Lori Bennetts, one of the organizers of the event.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. - David Charles "Dave" Dalbec, 77, of Wakefield, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield. Dave was born on Jan. 19, 1946, to Mayme (Cappo) and Elfreedor Dalbec. He attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1964. Dave continued his education and attended the Minneapolis Professional Business Institute and became a laboratory and X-ray technician.
