    BESSEMER - The Bessemer Area School District held an open house at both Washington Elementary and A.D. Johnston Junior/Senior High School on Thursday afternoon.     IRONWOOD — Students and their families were invited on Thursday to Luther L. Wright K-12 School in Ironwood for a Back to School Fair. The open house provided an opportunity for children and their parents to get ready for the first day of school on Tuesday by meeting teachers and completing important paperwork.     WASHBURN, Wis. — Gary Lee Rund, 78, of Bessemer, Michigan, passed away after a short stay at The Northern Lights Care facility in Washburn. Gary was born March 22, 1943, to Melbourne and Francis (Osier) Rund at Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield, Michigan. He was a graduate of Bessemer school in 1961. Later, he served faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war working with communications.
