By P.J. GLISSON news@yourdailyglobe.com WAKEFIELD - Stroll along one of Wakefield's Split Rock Trails, and you're bound to find flowers, birds, wild apples and sentries of surrounding trees, but be careful not to step on jay-walking toads. Especially not the way Ashland got the halftime lead to 24-0. Hurley failed to score on fourth down inside the 5 to pull within a single touchdown and Ashland followed with a 94-yard drive that ended in a touchdown just before the half. Ashland went on to win 38-14 and drop Hurley to 0-2. "That was killer," Hurley coach Scott Erickson said....

Calumet rolled over Gogebic 48-6 at Massie Field on Friday night. Miner coach Mark Mazzon was plenty impressed by the Copper Kings. "That's a heckuva team," Mazzon said. "They've got a good program and they are big and physical-you can tell that team has been in the weight room. They are going to give...
