The city commission met on Monday and city manager Scott Erickson said the night gatherings have been so well received this summer that the effort has been expanded. September was originally scheduled to be the last First Friday of the year, but the commission on Monday talked about First Fridays in October and December.     By JAN TUCKER [email protected] ONTONAGON — The Ontonagon County Economic Development Corporation remains in contact with the U.S. Corps of Engineers in its request for dredging of the Ontonagon Harbor. Tom Poisson reported to the board that contacts have been made with the Corps in Duluth and in Detroit asking that Ontonagon be placed in the appropriations for dredging in the 2018 season.     NEW BADEN, Ill. - Caroline Mary Kasieta, 91, O'Fallon, Ill., formerly a resident of Ironwood, Mich., passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Clinton Manor Living Center, with loving family by her side.     ONTONAGON, Mich. - Rosalie M. "Peggy" Younk passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Aspirus Ontonagon Long Term Care at the age of 90. She was born on July 4, 1927. She was the only daughter of William and Julia (LeMoine) Harris. She grew up in Green and graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1944. On May 28, 1949, she married Walter J. Younk.     ONTONAGON, Mich. — William "Bill" Walter Kovalainen, 73, passed away peacefully at the Aspirus Hospital in Ontonagon, on Sept. 12, 2017, after a brief illness. Bill had grown up and went to school in Ontonagon. At a young age, he joined the military and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
