DETROIT — The revitalization of Ironwood’s Depot Park was honored with the Michigan Municipal League’s 2013 Community Excellence Award over the weekend. IRONWOOD — The Ironwood Area School Board of Education heard from students and faculty about the possible movement of the Birchwood Alternative School from Bessemer to Ironwood, Monday. During an Aug. 19 meeting, superintendent Tim Kolesar was asked to make arrangements to move the alternative school out of the St. Sebastian building in Bessemer to help save the cost of renting the building. WOODRUFF, Wis. — Richard “Dick” Bugni, 78, of Mercer, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He fittingly passed on the autumnal equinox, which marks the first day of fall, his favorite season.
