    IRONWOOD - On Thursday night, a short odyssey began for area youngsters. "Show me a shape you've never seen before," Katharine Larson, dance instructor, told a stage full of young dancers. The Eisenhower Dance Ensemble drove 11 hours from Rochester by way of Marquette to "...bring dance to everyone, even the very young," Laurie Eisenhower, creative director, said.   • Rotary club plans 2014 ice-out contest

    ONTONAGON — Ice is still forming on the Ontonagon River, but the Ontonagon Rotary Club is looking forward to spring. The Ontonagon Rotary Wednesday unveiled plans for Ice-Out 2014 and 50-50 tickets are available for those who wish to guess what day and time the ice will leave the river. The exodus of the ice from the river has been celebrated in Ontonagon since 1960, when the river overflowed because the ice was unable to exit to Lake Superior.     MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin's water-diving ducks received some help from residents who became concerned after learning ice was keeping ducks from gathering food this winter. Animal rehabilitation clinics have been caring for a larger-than-usual number of malnourished ducks this winter. Some ducks don't migrate in winter and dive into water in search of food.     FONTANA, Calif. - Eunice Eileen (Strand) Hansen, 83, of Fontana, passed away Feb. 10, 2014. Eunice was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Bessemer, Mich., to John Leonard and Theresa Mary (Bretall) Strand.
