The chairman of the county board receives a base salary of $445 per month and the finance committee chair is paid $395 per month. The other five commissioners receive $320 per month. WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Duane "Dewey" Lane, 87, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, Sept. 29, 2018, at his home. Dewey was born on April 10, 1931, in Wakefield, to Edward "Ham" and Irene (Pikka) Lane. He attended schools in Wakefield and graduated with the Class of 1949. Verna was born on Oct. 10, 1919, in Wakefield, to Frank and Agnes (Patyk) Skolasinski. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1937.
