ASHLAND, Wis. — Elizabeth “Bette” Bluse passed away on Oct. 1, 2018, in Ashland. She was born Elizabeth Methodia to Frank and Elizabeth (Hilger) Gervais on Dec. 18, 1928, in Ashland. In 1946, Bette graduated from De Padua Catholic High School in Ashland. On Sept. 12, 1946, she married Clayton “Chickie” Bluse at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Ashland. MARENISCO — A judge’s decision on a lawsuit filed by Marenisco Township to attempt to prevent closure of the Ojibway Correctional Facility could come as soon as a week. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette filed a response Monday to the lawsuit on behalf of the Michigan Department of Corrections. MDOC is requesting the complaint be dismissed.
