  • Finance committee approves tentative 2017 budget, millage increase expected

According to Iron County Clerk Michael Saari, while the budget still needs to be approved by the full county board, the expected county millage rate will be .00476 — which translates to $4.76 for every $1,000 of taxable value. Anna was born on the Fourth of July, 1924, in Ashland, Wis., daughter of the late Jacob and Albertina Tannheimer. Anna attended Bessemer schools and graduated with the class of 1942. On July 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Stanley J. Elias at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Kansas City, Mo. Stanley preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2009.
