    IRONWOOD - Ironwood won both of its matches in a Tuesday triangular with Wakefield-Marenisco and Bessemer. The Devils beat Bessemer 25-9, 25-11 and edged W-M 25-23, 26-24, 15-9. W-M defeated the Speedgirls 25-5, 25-17 in the other match.   • Township looks to fill planning commission seat

    IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - The Ironwood Township Board discussed an open position on the planning commission Monday. Commission member Frank Genisot is leaving his position, effective Jan. 1. The board will advertise in the newspaper to gather applications. The deadline for the applications is Nov. 18 and an appointment will be announced on Nov. 24.     BESSEMER, Mich. — George Thomas “Tom” Goyins, 72, of Fairview Apartments, Bessemer, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, in his home, following a lengthy illness. Tom was born April 4, 1942, in Ironwood, son of the late George and Amelia (Bardon) Goyins, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1960. He then attended trade school in Minneapolis to learn small engine repair. He was employed at White Pine Copper Co. for 12 years and at Rovelsky & Co. in Ironwood for several years.
