    BESSEMER — The Gogebic Range Trail Authority is seeking volunteers to assist in trail clean-up efforts. The more than a foot of heavy snow that has fallen was accompanied by strong winds that downed many trees, making most of the trails impassable, according to GRTA trail boss Deb Fergus. The club is asking people to volunteer to help clear the downed tree limbs, with 95 miles of impassable trails that need to be cleared about a month away from the traditional opener for snowmobiling. Jeremy James Whitebird, 34, was sentenced to 17 years, eight months in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth.     WOODRUFF, Wis. - Dean H. Mattson, age 84, of Ironwood, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Iron Belt, Wis., the son of the late Edwin and Florence (Olson) Mattson. Dean attended schools in Iron Belt, graduating with the Class of 1951.
