    James Kichak was re-elected chairman for the Town of Mercer during the general spring election on Tuesday. Kichak edged challenger Opal Roberts, 355-343. In other Mercer races, Lin L. Miller defeated Sue Schenk for town treasurer, 383-274. For the Mercer School Board, three challengers ran for two seats. Incumbents Deanna Pierpont and Denise Thompson both were re-elected over opponent Paul Juske. Pierpont had 464 votes and Thompson had 383. Juske finished with 308. Two seats were up for grabs...

    WAKEFIELD — Glenn Gauthier, of the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post, has been promoted to sergeant after serving nearly 14 years at the post. “It feels very, very good,” Gauthier said.     MINOCQUA, Wis. — Dennis K. “Dbl D” DeRosso, 78, of Oma, died peacefully Monday, April 1, 2013, at Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Center in Minocqua, with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Hurley, son of the late Geno and Mae (Brown) DeRosso, attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1952.
