ODANAH, Wis. — The Bad River Tribal Council has declared a public health emergency because of the heroin and opiate problem on the Bad River Reservation. IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Renee' Diane Micheletti, 64, of Hurley, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017. IRONWOOD, Mich. - Howard Lloyd Niemi, 94, of Bessemer, died on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood. He was born May 26, 1923, in Ironwood, the son of the late Einard and Anna (Hill) Niemi. Howard graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army for the duration of World War II, assigned to the China-Burma-India battles and campaign.
