The result was a franchise record for one of the NFL's best wide receivers, and a big win for the Detroit Lions.   • Runners, walkers raise money for Wounded Warrior Project

    IRONWOOD - About 40 runners and walkers braved the chilly morning on Saturday to participate in the first ever Honor Our Veterans Walk/Run/Roll. Participants were not required to pay a fee to join the event, and they were not timed during the event. The focus instead was to help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.     IRONWOOD - The Historic Ironwood Theatre played host to some local and national talent on Saturday as part of the third annual HIT Idol contest. More than 40 youth, teens and adults competed in HIT Idol, and six winners were announced Saturday night.     HURLEY - Members of the Gogebic-Iron Detachment of the Marine Corps League celebrated the 238th birthday of the United States Marine Corps on Sunday. More than 30 Marines, former Marines, and their guests attended the event. This year is also the 70th anniversary of the 2nd Marine Division landing on Tarawa, the 45th anniversary of the Battle of Hue City, and the 10th anniversary of the "March Up" to Baghdad.     BERGLAND, Mich. - Laura Jane Hill, 97, of Bergland, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at her home. She was born in Eveleth, Minn., on Dec. 28, 1915, to the late George and Laura (Mortenson) Perham. Laura attended schools in Eveleth, Ely and Wolf, Minn. She graduated college from the University of Minnesota. On June 18, 1943, Laura was united in marriage to the late Herman Oscar Hill in Eveleth.
