The event in the gymnasium included an address by Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Aspinwall, the U.S. Army Station Commander in Hurley.   • Ontonagon names permanent clerk

    ONTONAGON — The village of Ontonagon has a permanent clerk. At its recent meeting, the council selected Kori Weisinger to return as village clerk. Weisinger was hired as clerk in May 2018, but in October 2020 left the position. When the village dismissed village manager Joe Erickson, Weisinger was hired as acting clerk. The council has praised Weisinger for her work in tracing incomplete grants and working on re-instating them. The council interviewed three of five applicants for the post and selected Weisinger.     WOODRUFF, Wis. - James J. Kehoe Jr. went to join his loved ones in heaven on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, after his valiant crusade with multiple illnesses and a continuing love of life. Jim passed holding hands with his wife, Mary, and sons, Nate and Adam, in Woodruff. Jim was born on Dec. 21, 1957, in Menominee, Michigan, to James J. Kehoe and Zoa LeErma "Mickey" Jones Kehoe.
