IRONWOOD - Two local competitive dancers are traveling to Orlando to dance at half-time as part of 300 performers doing a jazz pom routine for the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day. Cheyanne O'Brien, a 2013 Gogebic Community College graduate from Wakefield, won the honor in March in an individual competition in Duluth, Minn., at "Spring Fling." To the Editor: It appears to me that some on the Bessemer Area School Board have their own agenda and want to squash the voice of the voters. Why wouldn’t the Bessemer Area School Board take a survey of the district’s voters to see what direction they wish the board to proceed with before asking for more taxpayer money on a referendum? IRONWOOD, Mich. - Frank Peter Prezkop, 89, of Hurley, Wis., died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, with his loving family by his side, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood. He was born July 8, 1924, in Ironwood, to the late Peter and Mary (Pahucki) Prezkop, and attended A.L. Norrie Grade School and Luther L. Wright High School.
